Two Portrait SLATES off to PA

Just finished these and they are off to their new homes in PA. Emma wasn't too much help on these as she became engrossed with some new toys from Drs Foster and Smith---She did help me print and put together 48 cat cards for a client in CA.--It is really too beautiful out right now to stay in---I will paint some more tonight---time to plant some bulbs....

WOOD SHELF SITTERS

I must get seriously back to work today. I have several orders to fill, 16 items in all as of this hour. The majority of them require me to cut the dogs out of wood ---shelf critters and signs. I really prefer painting the slates and canvases---the shelf dogs and cats do give the customer a

less expensive way to have a portrait of their pet created and does not require wall space and is portable---you can take your pet to work !!! They are portable, do not shed, bark ,tweet or meow and can sit atop your desk top without pawing at the keys. Well enough silliness--off to draw and cut today and perhaps paint a slate , mailbox and start a canvas--my 28 hour day !!! EMMA can not help as much today as she is not allowed down the basement where my wood working tools and saws await me---Today is her day of rest ---HA Have you ever seen a tired cat with circles under her eyes ? I doubt it ! To the wood shed I go.....

Back to work

I rather dogged it this weekend but now that the weather is cooperating by being overcast etc. ,there are no temptations to wander outside and enjoy the beautiful fall heaven sent art show.

I just received an order from a shop in Georgia to furnish them with 7 shelf sitters, 2 Beware of dog signs and 2 slates. These are all generic to a breed. I also have a portrait slate to paint for a client in Pa. My client in Ca. received her cats and wants some cards made of the projects.

This weekend was a bust from a work ethic point but I had other things on my mind , worrying about my niece caught up in the bombings in Pakistan. She, fortunately, made it home to NYC in one piece on Sunday evening. She lives a very exciting life as an educator and advocate for the UN in some of the hot spots around the globe---a few weeks ago she just made it out of Uganda before the bombings there---not my idea of adventure or a life style ! I will stick with my pet paintings---animals are so much more civilized...Well, must be off to draw the critters, cut them out of wood and paint with EMMA's help. Included are a couple of ex. of the pieces ordered---more can be seen on my site:- www.animalandpetartistry.com

Auction to benefit breeds--Neapolitan Mastiff

This past spring I created quite a few pieces-paintings etc for the US Neapolitan Mastiff Club to benefit the breed---I have done this for several years. I charge my wholesale prices for the art work so they can maximize their take. I have painted slates, mailboxes, trays, signs, canvases, cards, stools and chests for their auction. I would aspire to provide more breed clubs with pieces for their fundraisers. If you would like to consider this approach for your fundraising I can be reached at cynthia@animalandpetartistry.com--you can also view my site : animalandpetartistry.com--The picture is of the chest. My Calico cat, EMMA, particularly liked this piece as she could curl up inside and nap or use it as a hiding place while playing hide n seek with her brother DINO.

Local pet

My business enables me to connect with pets across the country but this handsome fellow is a neighbor's relative---I mean that in the most complimentary way--who better to emulate than a friend who judges you not.

FROM COAST TO COAST

You will never guess who is sitting next to me---EMMA , my most severe critic. I shipped 3 orders out yesterday--one to Ca--one to Pa and a local NJ pet. I have a couple of Neapolitan Mastiff paintings to complete. Good thing they are paintings and not the dog. They are huge--not tall but massive and have a face only their puppy would love --The Dogs of War !!! More to follow---must feed the kitties before their meows turn into roars.

Computer

She did it---HIJACKED my computer !!!

ANOTHER SHIPPING WITH COMMENT ?

Here I am again with my favorite critic and assistant--It is the last time for a while that she will

be featured in my blog unless she hijacks the computer--POSSIBLE ?--We shall see. I don't know if Emma is imitating the dog or pretending that she is boss or is commenting on her assessment of the work. You can see more of my slates on my sit at : www.animalandpetartistry.com--thus come without her editorial opinions.

Dog Portrait shipped

I just got back from UPS. The depot here in Parsippany NJ , thankfully, opens at 7:30 AM-vey convenient as I am usually up and about by 3:30 AM--a wonderful time to paint !!! SO the little Cocker Spaniel with the Irish bandanna is off to his new home in Provincetown, Ma and I am about to finish anew portrait of an English Setter---oops DINO just ran over my toes. He and EMMA are having a race around the house after which in true cat fashion they will collapse and sleep the day away.
